John, check the spark plugs? If one or more are very white, like new, you have water leaking into that cylinder, ie head gasket. Remove and boil the therostat to see if it opens, use a thermometer if

Unless the water was pouring out it wouldn't overheat in 2 miles. Most thermostats are designed to "break" in the open position, this way the car will under heat instead of over heat. I would suspect
