To get the type of performance that the supercharger offers you would have to at least rebuild the valve train on the 1800. There were some comments that the engine would have to be running at about

Good point--if you could get 180 horses at 5,000-6,000 rpm, that would be a good deal, and if you still had some serious torque starting at 1,500 or so, then building from there it would be worth it
