OK folks, I need some advice. For the past year my low mileage unrestored MKII Sprite (948) has had a horrible swaying problem. Last year it nearly cost my son and I our lives. Even at the slowest of

On that car the 'elbow' shocks are also the upper control arms. When they wear out it's like a ball joint worn out on an upper control arm on a modern car.

If you grab the top of one of the wheels and pull-push sideways there should be very little if any movement. If there is check the shock arm bushings, where they mount on the shock and where they mou

Shocks will make for a really weird driving Sprite. Bum front sox WILL make it sway. Also the upper trunion bushings (where the shock arm bolts to the king pin) And toe in, which should not have gon

I bought a MkIII Sprite last year and was amazed with how bad it was once I got it out on a dry day. It did what you are describing, and new shocks cured its ills. I bought extra firm for good measur
