Last night I pulled my air pump and was reading John Twist's tech manual and it's a bit confusing. So the vacuum hose goes from the manifold/gulp valve to this vacuum valve/solenoid thing called a TC

Ok, well, on my car, up to last night, there was a T in the vacuum line. The line came out of the intake manifold into the T. Half the T went to the gulp valve. The other half went to the TCSA. That

AFAIK there is (almost) no connection between the TCSA and the gulp valve. They both have a connection to the inlet manifold, right enough, but that is as far as it goes, the engine had the gulp valv

Interesting idea Paul H. I can only speak as to my U.S. spec '79 and have never seen another "micro-switch" or connecting wires other than the one similar to the reverse light one on the gearbox. The

The simplest thing, if you still have the solenoid, is to leave it there and connected, just bypass it by running the vacuum pipe direct from intake to distributor. If you *don't* have the solenoid t

My son's baseball game was rained out last night, after two innings, so I was able to get out in the garage. I pulled the manifold with carb still on it. It's truly a wonder this car was running. The
