I don't know about the MGA, but both my Midget book and the MGB book state the starter Bendix should NOT be lubed. The reasoning stated is that the lubricant will act as a magnet for clutch dust and

How does one determine if a starter switch is bad? I turn on my lights then pull the starter and lights do not dim. Is that an indication that the starter switch and not the starter is bad? Looking a

The switch question is replied to in another posting. The starter may be tested by using a jumper cable from the battery to it. Try to get the polarity right. If the starter is dead, it may be just
