Heat is your friend. Boil them in water for 15 minutes (don't let the pot boil dry!) and they will be much easier to install (but very hot so use gloves).

This is probably "Triumph sacrilige", but I've had success by cutting the bushing at one point (radially) with a utility knife, then soaking in hot water and then pushing them in with a rubber mallet
