When putting in carpet under a TR3's seats, do you cut slits in the carpet for the seat rails to bolt it? It looks like originally the seat rails bolted through the carpet. I think that if there are

I think originally the carpets didn't go under the seats at all, at least ISTR someone saying that. Anyway, I poked holes through from the bottom, trying to minimize any destructive moves on the car

I put my seat rails on top of the carpet. I think that is how I have found most of the carpets done in my cars. I afraid if you slit the carpet around the rails that the seat would catch the carpet

I am positive I had slits for the seat rails in the carpet kit I got years ago from Moss Cox & Buckles (London). I do not remember if they were edged or not. Slits seem very sensible to me. How would
