ANYONE HAVE ADVICE ON RACING A TR3 ON "STREET" TIRES? I'M JUST GETTING STARTED, THE CAR IS BASICLY STOCK, AND WILL PROBABLY NOT INITIALLY BE TIRE LIMITED. YOU CAN BUY AT LEAST TWO GOOD "H" RATED TIRE

Yokohama AVS or their current equivlent are very good. I use 205x65 from Tire Rack. They fit the 5.5 inch rim ok -- 215s are a stretch [but I do have them on the rear]. Used these many times on the t

I think what Chuck is saying about shaved is important. I used a set of real street tires, not high performance street tires on my car for 1 race. They heated up and started to chunk off, big pieces

street tires are not suitable for racing. they get too hot and don't work anymore. the riding with those tires isn't precise driving. i tryed that. i would ask a racing tire dealer for special offer
