1. Will a TR3A's exhaust manifold fit a TR4A engine? Why not? 2. Why is the TR4A's exhaust system superior to a TR3A's? Thanks, Paul Dorsey 60 TR3A (with a TR4A engine)
Yes, it will fit the engine. Fitting the rest of the exhaust is more problematic. The 4-2-1 design allows for better scavenging of the cylinders at midrange rpm, resulting in slightly more power. Ki
I think the TR3A manifold would bolt up to the to the head of the 4A but what exhaust system would you then use? The 4-into-1 header from the '3A will be looking for the '3A/4 headpipe and exhaust sy
You guys are so silly. Bolt the header on, go to your local muffler shop and say the muffler goes here and the pipe gets routed through these holes here & here. I'm running four tube headers with co
I will vouch for the "sweet sound" of TeriAnn's TR3!! Jim Jim Bauder '58 TR3 (For Sale!) '68 TR250 (New Project!) Scottsdale, AZ You guys are so silly. Bolt the header on, go to your local muffler sh
TeriAnn, is right on, I did almost the same thing to Casper, except I used a Monza resonator, and a good glass pack. TeriAnn ... we will have to have an exhaust purr contest sometime ... <G> -- Bill
i have no way to record it. Best sounds are above 3000 RPM under load T.J. Wakeman Never let anyone drive you crazy when you know it's within walking distance.
Use TR3A manifold and headpipe, and like TeriAnn says, have shop fabricate from there. Cheap and fast. (You could start with TR4A exhaust manifold, but you would have to replace longer bullnose TR3A
