The TR4 (and late TR3As) do not have the filler plug/dipstick that can be accessed from inside the car and the manual says to pump the gearbox oil in thru the filler plug on the side of the gearbox.

Most places (Kragen, Schucks, Pep Boys, AutoZone, etc.) will carry the Sta-Lube pump, which IMO works quite well. The pump screws into the bottle, and has a long enough hose to snake under the car,

On the solid axle cars, you just remove the cover to drain the oil. That way you can also clean and inspect. Aren't you worried you'll wind up with one thumb larger than the other ? Best to switch h
