- How about also going to a Sport Coil? I have the Lucas version and my plugs are gapped to .030. No problems. Joe 72 TR-6 (sometimes Supercharged)

- One possible explanation is glazing ... basically a conductive coating forms on the ceramic surface, that conducts enough to bleed off the spark voltage before it gets high enough to jump the gap. T

- There have been so many excellent guesses. I tried to check this one out by placing an ohm meter across the insulator areas that would get contaminated by this sort of thing but there was no reading.
