I am putting a new glass in my windscreen and while I understand the instruction in the Bentley manual regarding the cord around the gasket etc. I am wondering if there are any other suggestions that

I still live with the trauma of putting mine in. On the first attempt, I destroyed the seal and had to order another one for the next try. You are probably aware of the cord that you place in there.

Also I used vegetable oil as a lubricant, just coated the seal with it using a paper towel. I've been told, and I am not kidding, that KY Jelly is perfect for this and easy to clean up. Robert Housto

Liquid soap works for me. The wetter the better. Definitely helps to have the rubber warm and pliable. Rich Rock Pottstown, PA
