- Don't bother trying to remove it the conventional way, just cut it off with a Sawzall. I removed all the bolts from my rear flange that way because they were all beat up from a diff mount bolt backin

- I would recommend using a Dremel tool with a cutting disk. A lot easier to handle in a tight spot as well. In any event have a fire extinguisher handy and watch where the hot sparks are going.
