I use an OLFA brand exacto type knife the blade extends about 6 inches so I am sure I cut through all the sealer. If your car has never been restored the fenders are just bolted on. My car was resto

More than a weekend job. Mine have been off for about a month with no apparent sign of refit :-( Theoretically, yes. But if any body shop has worked on them in the past, beware of spot welds holding
