Paul Thanks for your response. From your email address I'm guessing that you're in the US, and as it's generally hotter over there I'm surprised that you're not already familiar with the inadequate h

Ah yes, TVRs, I *must* own one someday. Along with a Midget, a TR8, a Jensen Interceptor, a Stag, and a V-12 E-type roadster. Yeah, right. Well, maybe I can swing the Midget in about 20 years, after

Technically speaking I think these were Griffiths not TVRs (unless TVR also made a version with a 289 that I'm not aware of). The Griffith was assembled in the US during the 60's. Body and chassis p

TVR did make Ford-V8-engined cars. At one time, I saw a test in R&T\ (bet it is in the Brooklands Gold Portfolio) of two cars, the Tuscan and the Vixen, one with a Triumph 2.5-liter and the other wit

The Tuscan was the V8 and the Vixen was (I think) a 4. The TR-6 2.5 liter was used in the TVR 2500M which came a little later.

I was admiring a very classy sports car called a TVR that I had never heard of, when the owner walked up and explained that it was British, and that TVR stands for Trevor, the guy who makes the car.

I think that's a TVR Tasmin/280. There was one for sale in San Diego about a month ago. Had my credit card out and ready to buy, but someone bought it the night before. David

Sounds like the somewhat homely (IMO) TVR Tasmin. The earlier cars are much prettier. So are the latest cars that are trying to look similar to the earlier cars! TreVoR Wilkinson started TVR back in

TVR is alive and well. There was a recent Autoweek article about the company. The current Tuscan has the Rover V8, opened up to 3.9 and the hottest model is the 420SEAC. 4.2 liters, 300HP. Accelerate
