Brent, my electric tach. on my 61 Bugeye is doing the same thing. I removed it, took it apart and everything was free, seemed clean and looked ok. I sprayed it with contact cleaner and have not reins

Check the grounding. Tachs act wacky if the ground is faulty. But, when has Lucas ever made any faulty electical stuff?
