Its dead easy - just take the tach out, remove the back cover, drill a small hole in the cover so that you can adjust the potentiometer you will find inside (its the only one) once the cover is back

At what point is the clutch supposed to stop slipping? If 2,000 rpm equals 30 mph, one should be able to reasonably assume that 1,000 rpm equals 15 mph. Therefore, 3000 should equal 45 mph, not 54 mp

SNIP Huh?? According to the manual, at 2000 RPM in direct 4th, the MGB should be running 35.2 MPH (17.6 MPH per 1000 rpm in 4th). Or 52.8 MPH at 3000 RPM. Rick Morrison 72 MGBGT 74 Midget
