The seat cushions are not symmetrical, so if you accidentally swapped sides they might jam against the tunnel. Or perhaps the new cushions made them sufficiently more plump so as to achieve the same

I rebuilt my seats, oh, 7 or 8 years ago now. I stripped them to the frame, gave them a light sanding and painted them with Rustoleum rusty metal primer. Finished with a coat of Rustoleum satin blac

Bill, no electrics involved with my seats - too old! But I believe you are correct re: seatbelt buzzer... I'm going with the original color - black leather with red piping. I'm going to try and do it

Rather than going outside for added foam just replace the standard foam along with new bottom diaphrams. Probably cost less and the origional seat is quite comfortable. This is an easy DIY project.
