I don't think your question was insignificant... I, for one, was confused as to your question. The TR series of cars used a splined, knock off (or Rudge) "hub extension" for mounting the wires wheels

Actually, the TR2 and drum brake TR3 (as David has) used a different system, with special splined hubs (similar to the MGs). If you check the Moss catalog, you can see the hubs (Moss P/N 661-340 and
