- Since it is a fresh rebuild don't jump to conclusions on the oil sheen in the rad. Happens sometimes. If it is a lot of oil that is a different situation. Are you sure you released the timing chain

- Yes , I am as sure as I can be that I released the chain tensioner. The snapping sound was not regular. First one snap and we started looking at the plug wires then another, then two and then many. M
