I saw the last 3/4 of a Toyota sponsored program about their new race motors designed to NASCAR specs. It was fascinating. They assigned a group that had designed winning CART, IRL and competitive F-

Some contention in NASCAR over this one. But basically they got to look at the Dodge, Ford and Chevy engines first. They then decided what were the attributes of each design and built their motor acc

Whoever thought the Toyota engineers were looking at the " Dodge, Ford and Chevy engines first" forgot that they have IRL, CART and F-1 engines that they designed, back at the shop to look at. Toyot

If Toyota can keep valves under control at 17k rpm do you think they might need whom to teach them a lesson?? My bet is if NASCAR does not have an RPM limit rule they will soon. Amen on the entertain

When talking about push rod engines, one must remember the Mercedes/Illmore champ car engine. That too was a push rod engine though you would be hard pressed to notice it. It didn't make nearly as ma

Yeah, building the bottom would be a walk in the Ginza, but the top end, carburetors, etc. would be new, but won't take too long. I wonder how they'll react when NASCAR adjusts the rules should they

The 17K motors don't have all of the machinery and monkey motion to deal with. On day 1, I bet the Toyota folks spent time examining the current state of the art in NASCAR racing motors. I expect th

Without a doubt Toyota has an extreemly competent engineering staff. However for NASCAR purposes they probably got more help from their 22R than their F-1 engine. Don't think NASCAR has any intention
