Thanks for your help. I plan on emptying the system tomorrow or Saturday. It probably was bad or moisture laden fluid, b/c the last time I topped off the reservior, the container looked kind of rusty

IMHO, pressure plate faults are most likely to show up as slipping (engine but car maintains speed) or judder (impossible to smoothly engage clutch). It sounds like you're describing something else.

Regarding the pressure plate. With my spit, the "fingers" of the pressure plate started to get weak and thus I could not fully disengage the clutch. It began to act like I was losing hydrolic pressur
