Hi friends, Is there anybody out there, who can take a close picture of the throttle adjustment screw close to the throttle cable drum. It's the screw that is used to adjust the throttle of both carb

This screw should not press against anything for normal operation. You should adjust your carbs with all the linkage disconnected using the individual throttle screws, then connect the linkage so it

It was asked: Keith Williams used my car as a tune-up demo at the Shasta meet. He feels that this screw is used during carb balancing ONLY (to temporarily achieve a high RPM) and in normal operation

It was my understanding that the high speed adjust screw was used to balance the carbs at higher revs. First you balance the carbs at idle. Then using the throttle to maintain the revs at about 2,00

This makes sense, but what can you adjust at 2,000 - 2,500 rpm that doesn't impact idle? On the Z, there's a separate screw on the throttle of the back carb that has no effect on idle. What is the eq

On 1600 the two link arms to each carbs throttle shaft are adjustable for length. On the 2000's one of the throttle shaft levers (the front carb's I think) fits directly into the center linkage piece

Thanks for the reply. I have a 1600. Maybe I'm still missing something because although I can adjust the length of the arms, the throttle that they're connected to can't be adjusted, so if I shortene

To do the idle you have to disconnect the "arms" and use the screws on the carbs to balance the carbs. After the idle is set you reconnect the arms to the carbs and adjust the arms to get your carbs

On the 1600 [don't know about the 2000] there is a knurled screw on the throttle linkage between the throttle cable half-wheel and the turnbuckle to the front carb. This will move the entire linkage

Same on the 2000, although on the 2L the knurled screw is on the throttle cable turnbuckle. That's the screw that started this thread and is used for high speed synchronizing of the carbs. FWIW, I al
