You describe "soft" as needing pumping up, which sounds more like adjustment. How about the rear brakes? They may need bleeding and If you still have drums, they may need adjustment. If the shoes or

I would start by checking and bleeding the rear brakes. Also check the fluid for contamination, any contamination means a seal has probably failed somewhere in the system. Then go the front brakes;

Re: rear brakes. The e brake handle requires only 4 to 5 clicks to be locked up solid. That is correct according to shop manual. Again, the first time this problem occured was after sitting overnight
