I've never heard this one before, which leads me to ask: Just what are Midget owners with stock 1275s setting their stroboscopic timing to? My bently book says 13 degrees BTDC at 1000 rpm with the va

Hi all, I've just fit an electronic ignition into my 1500. The instruction leaflet says that timing will need readjusting. Is there any way I can guess at this without forking out for a timing light?

Sounds pretty strange, maybe some crosstalk or some such interference problem. At least the #4 works, so you can still set your timing. mjb. /// unsubscribe/change address requests to majordomo@autox

Not sure if it makes a difference but if the dizzy drive is in a tooth off, would this give you some funky timing reading? I used a timing light once on a Sprite, and quickly reverted back to time i

The distributor drive *may* be off a tooth or two. If you can not get the timing close because the dizzy hits the engine or oil pipe, the drive is off. Remove the dizzy, set engine at TDC, the drive

Guy and others: Keep in mind that when you turn off your ignition, your plugs can no longer supply a spark, so the timing can have nothing to do with run on. However, a hot plug can be acting as a gl
