Yesterday as I tore my engine down to replace the camshaft I noticed my timing chain had excessive slop in it . This chain was put in only last winter and the total mileage couldn't exceed 4000miles.

My limited experience with this says that some of the roller chains stretch quicker than the stock type chains. I always let them sit overnight in a can of oil before installing to help breakin. I'm

I agree with Howard. Also if you check the cam timing now that the chain is stretched and adjust accordingly, the cam timing will more than likely stay put for a long time. It works for me. Skip Hig

I have been running Jesel Belt Drive's ... the hype is they dampen out the harmonic's between the Crank and the Valvetrain.... Biggest reason I saw to run them was the adjustability allowed in Cam Ti
