FOr me the best compromise on the road/ track 948 MkII is the 165/70 Falken FKO7U on Rostyles. The Falkens are very progressive and are terrific in the wet. On the standard Bugeye I run the 145/80 Mi

Tyre sizes are standardised but you can have variances according to tread pattern, sidewall plies, 'rubber' compounds etc although on a standard car it shouldn't make that much difference. Tyre press

Different tires of the same size will have different shapes. Basicly the sidewall can be flater or rounder, stiffer or softer. If the fit is tight, one tire brand may rub, and one may not.

The short answer is no. There is a range of actual sizes that a given manufacturer can call a nominal size. I can quote one example where a 185/60 is the same as a nominal 175/60 and a 175/60 that is
