I'm looking to find replacement tires for my MGB. I live in central Iowa and haven't found any stores that carry the origional type tires. It appears my 80B came with Dunlop SP4's 165SR14 . At this p

Michelin no longer makes XZX's in 165SR14 size. The tire molds were bought by some company back east that specializes in doing just that...buying old tire molds and making the tires in limited amount

IMHO, the Michelin XZX is a lousy tire. In particular, they really stink in the wet. Definitely not worth $100 a pop. No kloo about availability of Dunlops or Pirelli. I haven't seen them around in a

I recently bought 5 165SR14s made by AVON (british) thru a local tire dealer, they were $60 each. There wasn't much (any) choice at that size. There did seem to be a pretty good selection of 175-75 x

If you want Dunlop SP4's I'm not sure you can get them, but you can probably get the proper size SP6's from Universal Tire Co, but they are $127 a piece. The Avons are $72. Their number is 800 233-38

Standard 170SR14 or 175SR14 tyres work just fine on a B, better if you don't have wire wheels. A company called Fulda (German tyre manufacturer) makes the original 165SR14 tyres, and it's a good tyr
