You can get a generic oil pressure gauge at almost any car parts dealer. I had one that screwed right in where the original oil pressure send connected on the passenger side of the block. It may be

The idea that having the oil pressure too high will push the oil through the bearings without lubing the motor seems improbable to me. Could you please explain? Ray Gibbons Dept. of Molecular Physiol

Though, I am not a lubricant distribution engineer, I would have to agree w/ Ray. Sounds kind of iffy to me. However, regarding problems related to oil pressure being too high, I read in some Hot Ro

Ray - My brother is service manager at a Peterbilt truck place. He showed me a set of main and rod bearings from a Peterbilt engine that had run with a defective bypass, causing too much oil pressure

Ray is asking the right question here. This sounds a little weird to me as well. The real problem with too high oil pressure is erosion of the bearings, and possible leaking and failure of the oil f

Really high oil pressure, usually caused by a stuck pressure relief valve, can blow out the oil filter. Moderately high oil pressure, like anything over 80 psi, usually caused by the DPO installing i

Hello everyone, I recently installed my newly rebuilt B motor (.40 over, piper 1/4 race cam, weber, header,...) and am concerned about the oil preasure. Initialy, it showed 100 PSI or so and I though

Seems to me that a fairly simple testing fixture could be made up from a small pipe with an air hose coupler thingy on one end and a fitting to fit the gauge hose (or sender) on the other end. Can an

Yes too much pressue is a problem, hench the pressure relief valve. To test the pressure you need a reliable gauge and then need to somehow fit it in place of the old one. This can probably best be
