So Saturday I got the MG out of hibernation. Popped the hood/bonnet. Pulled the coil wire fuel pump pumped for 30 seconds cranked for oil pressure - less than 30 seconds replaced the wire. Started it

This will sound odd - but take a little of the oil from the dipstick, and see if you can light it with a match. If you can, it's gas. If you can't it isn't gas. My guess is that you have an oil coole

Nope, no oil cooler. Just the line from the block to the filter adapter. I'll try the match thing, probably not tonight, Scouts. Not tomorrow, working at the Wild game. Wednesday? maybe. Thanks, Paul

I finally got to it, tonight. Changed the oil, fresh filter. This stuff saw no action. I changed it and put it away. It got about 10 miles. No it wasn't thin, there wasn't antifreeze in it. So I take
