My '70 B was missing the top starter when I pulled the engine. Now I noticed that there are no threads remaining in the bolt hole. Was there threads at one point that are not stripped, or was their a

Hi Andrew, The top starter motor bolt on my MGBGT early '71 has a much longer bolt. This is needed because it goes much deeper before it fits than the lower bolt. Cheers, Hans

Obviousely there is threads, because the bolt fits in. But asthe engine is in place, I cannot take a close look. The top bolt is about twice as long as the lower one, and this is needed for the longe
