This is one I am wrestling with right now. The little truck (S10) we are building has leaf springs. I am just not comfortable with wrap up, wheel hop and uncontrolled pinion angle that I associeate w

Put some good old fashion traction bars on there and you won't get any wrap up. A pinion snubber also works well. I ran factory super stock leaf springs and a pinion snubber on a VERY torquey Mopar 4

Glenn I bolted Ladder bars on top of my leaf's and 1/4" steel plates all along the bottom of them.... it was a junk set up but there was Zero wrap up.... The pinion angle was a bitch kitty to set....

The idea is that the suspension moves in an arch.... thou ladder bars won't let you maintain angles in the arch they are so much farther forward at the front mounting point that the arch has less eff

Dick, Most leaf springs wrap up about 5 deg. So we set the pinion angle down about 2 1/2 deg. As it works through its movement it stays within 2 1/2 of straight. Anyway that has worked for me for abo

I agree with you Dick, If you have a suspension system that gives you some control over it then set it and forget it. But leaf springs alone do not control it. Glenn Dick J <lsr_man@yahoo.com> wrote:

It seems that a four link with four equal links, or a leaf spring with front and rear length equal would not result in an arc, but a striaght up and down movement, which would preserve the original p

A four link with the bars equal and parrellel would give a constant pinion angle but a leaf spring trys to be come "S" shaped when it trys to resist the torque. Glenn Dick J <lsr_man@yahoo.com> wrote

I would think that suspension would help keep the driving wheels on the ground more of the time (kind of bumpy at Bonneville...right?) and thus transfer more power to the ground. Might help the driv
