if you tow much or very heavy--I sure would consider the GM Allison--just ask those that tow --the 8100 gas with 4.10 or the Diesel with 3.73--you will neve regret it-- "Sparky" Lakester 2211

Is it possible that using a Heavy Duty Allison (think Kenworth) truck transmission in a light duty truck is better than using a beefed up passenger car transmission? Bryan

My '04 Duramax (310 hp version) w/3.73 gears & Allison is also the quietest of the Ford/GM/Dodge diesel set-ups, whether at idle or going down the road. Overall fuel economy is 19 no trailer summer,
