- I've seen a few in South Jersey (the Marlton circle comes to mind) where the circle is controlled by traffic lights, with a road cutting through the middle. Kinda defeats the purpose, don't you think

- I guess you are talkjing about what we call roundabouts. They are extremely common on the UK, and work very well with 98% of people obeying the few simple rules about lane discipline and priorities.
