Evening all! Why does a 1600 with a 5 speed seem slower (not as fast) than a 1600 with a 4 speed? Does the stock rearend gears need to be changed to make up for the lack of umph? Curious. Jim

The gear ratios are different especially first gear. The 5 speed has a higher ratio, I think 2.97:1 for first, as opposed to 3.4:1 for the 4 speed. That's why it seems slower. Mike
