- A while back there was a thread on tranny/ diff oil and the use of GL-4 oil instead of GL-5. Something to do with "yellow metal" (bronze or brass parts). I had trouble finding GL-4 and the Valvoline

- As I recall, MG Midget gearboxes use 30e-wt NON-detergent motor oil because the additives fight with the synchros. Dunno if that is because they are bronze or because they are coated somehow. I bough
