I'll have to second this, from my own experience. I converted a Triumph TR7 to HS6 carbs from the stock Zenith Strombergs. I had the backfire and poor acceleration. I was sure it was in the HS6 carbs

Are you sure that all of the plug wires are where they belong? When I got mine it was wired exactly backwards. Started and ran fair at idle but similar symptoms. The advance may be a seperate issue.

Hi Rich, I have a '69 B. If you have the right carbs (AUD 326), the rear carb has a port on it for the vacuum advance hose. That's where you need to connect it. The vac unit is intended for carb-port
