Hi Gregg, Had the same probelm with my '70 when I purchased it. In my case the little tab that is screwed into the lock assembly had unscrewed itself. This tab engages the latch assembly (see page 76

You can get your trunk lid open by drilling a 1/8 diameter hole directly below the lock. You can then push a nail or similar through the hole and psh the internal part of the catch and release it.Mak
