Well, you are actually grandfathered, as your car predates the very existence of VIN's. Your car has a serial number and a data plate. You would have to check the Michigan laws in effect in 1965 or '

Why would you even bother telling the state? Most state license and title officials think a Sunbeam is a mixmaster. My Tiger had its plate removed when it was repainted by the PO over 30 years ago. Y
