The original four speed out of a 62 Skylark was a BorgWarner T-10. This tranny was originally designed for the Corvette. The version used in the Skylark has a unique cast aluminum output shaft housi

Can anyone verify that there was a different horsepower output for the Skylark with the T-10 in 1962? Somewhere many years ago I read that if you had a Skylark (doesn't work for Specials) and the 4 s

Prices vary by area. In the D.C. area, I would pay $100-150.00 for an engine that was an unknown, assuming it was complete. A 4-speed bellhousing seems to go from $150.00 up. Nobody really wants an

I would agree on that price. Last year I bought a complete '63 Buick special 2bbl engine (supposedly running, but out of the car), for $100 Cdn. This included a broken 4spd bellhousing (all clutch co

Actually, all Corvair turbos ('62-'66) came with a side draft Carter carb, which is actually much less complex than the Rochester on the turbo 215. The Carter was also used on the old 6 cylinder Corv

Thanks for the info! Its just an idea for now, but yes, I was thinking about a low boost turbo only. My engine (P76 V8) is pretty low reving, with maximum power produced at about 4500rpm, so I'm keen
