I am not sure my 18GD engine was originally an MGB engine. I can't find any reference to the 18G -D- engines being used in Bs in the Moss catalog. It goes from the 18GB in '67 to the 18GF in '68. It

Clausager's Original MGB says that the 18GD engine was fitted from Nov. '67 to Oct. '68 for home and export cars (including Canada), but not for cars to the USA. It was the same as the US spec 18GF

According to Clausager, the 18GD is just the Home Market & Canadian version of the 18GF, which was the US 1968 engine. You're right, it should have been a GH in your 70. The "WE" indicates manual gea
