Yes this is what I ment by hooking it up right. If anyone has one of these sport coils it would be worth the effort to read the article. There is more to it than hooking up the sw and cb correctly. .

Hi Vince, You will only see 12v on both types if the points are open. On the external ballasted type if the points are closed you will see about 6v at the +ve terminal. Just a small 'point'. :) PaulH
