I know nothing about the linkage on this site but I have used the soft mounts with considerable success. The original hard mounts tend to leak and are subject to cracking. I have not dealt with this

On a side note, the rubber hourglass cushions and the cup washers described on that page make a nice setup for sealing the rocker cover attachment points. Not as shiny as the chrome topped Honda moto
