Hi Mike, Why go for Webers when the SU-HS4 or (H4?) give a nice broad power band, whereas the Webers supposedly have a sharp narrow frequency range. That could make them ineffective. What's your opin

Webers don't drift out of tune, are less prone to leaking and produce more HP and they sound a whole lot better :-) Seriously, the mistake most people make with webers is not setting them up properly

most serious engine guys can get more power out of a race engine with SU's than a single weber. Comptune is an example. But it takes a long time, a dyno, several thousands of dollars, and a skilled m

Huh? Sounds pretty backwards to me. From everything I've heard, Weber's are a bitch to set up right, but make a bit more HP on highly modified engines. From my experience, SU's are far easier to set

Notice Brian said twin SUs vs a single Weber. With split webers you'll make more power again. The reason is almost certainly due to the shape of Weber manifolds The distance b/n the inlet ports on th

Carb's are interesting things. To your points - dyno's don't lie. And top engine guys, of which I only know of two or three, can always get more HP out of an ultimate racing engine on HS2's than they

I have to speak on this thread. These are my own personal expieriences. Please don't start a flame war after reading them. I've been running SUs for many years then I bolted on a 45 DCOE Weber to a s

I've never had SU's on the car...(in fact I've never driven a stock 1275cc)...but do have 45 DCOEs. While they are not perfect they are real close! They sound great. They go like stink..once they cle

I agree, and think your experience is pretty normal - a 45 weber is TONs better for potential power than a STOCK pair of SU HS2's, and the Weber has accelerator pumps, which make a big difference in
