Personally, I would stick with the SUs. Tuned properly, you will get more power, plus they are far easier to work on, and not nearly as fussy. My opinion only. Check out Dave Vizard's book on tuning

I have had ywin SUs, Single 1.75 SU, and Weber down and side drafts on 1275s. it goes. Weber 45 DCOE side draft. Best preformance! Twin 1.25 SUs, Not bad, (stock) Weber down draft, lets just it worke
