Hello good Spridgeteers, Found a price at a local discount tool outfit. Campbell-Hausfeld 145amp for $400 or a C-H 250amp for $390. The latter being cheaper makes me wonder. This place does have a ha

C-H makes equipment marketed for us weekend warriors (lower bucks). Many people do not know it but many of the brand name air tools compressors and small welders are made by C-H and re-badged (Sears

I have 2 C-H air compressors, both still are great. I is a portable that rides around in my truck, it sure doesn't look pretty, and it is all "duct taped" together, but it still works fine except in

OK, while we are talking about welders, does the description below sound like a setup I could use? I can't tell if this is really a MIG welder, or something that is supposed to imitate it. I know tha

Personally I would pass on that unit. The duty cycle is terrible. My old 40% duty cycle machine was a pain if you were welding something big. (like a trailer or a frame) What they mean by duty cycle

Ditto also what Frank said. Flux core is real messy. The wire is real susceptible to breakdown from humidity. Gas is relatively cheap and you can weld half a Sprite together on one bottle. Don't ask.

I wouldn't recommend it. Use a welder that uses bottle gas, it is a lot easier to use and makes cleaner welds that don't require cleanup after. -- Trevor Boicey, P. Eng. Ottawa, Canada, tboicey@brit.
