If I were you I would pull the hood off and drive around for a minute or two with a makeshift radiator and no fan to see what happens when you hit that sort of bump. Is the rad moving back? Is the mo

You have a 1500 radiator not a 1275 crossflow. I run this same set-up on my bug-I and there isn't enough room for any fan. The answer is the small Hayden electric fan (10"?). Install it as a pusher,

If you water pump shaft is correct and your engine mounts are good then you have the wrong radiator. Additionally, I'm unclear what you mean about the "engine mount rubbers are also pushed as far fo

What's up with that little crease in the frame rail? Was that car ever wrecked in the front? That little crease, if present on both sides, may translate into 1/2" or more of lost radiator clearance.

Another observation: Notice how the radiator was damaged by the fan blades but not damaged in the middle of the circle by the center hub of the fan. Again, I would get a 1500 radiator cowl. It will b

If you do this, don't forget to find a new lower radiator hose first. The upper will still reach, but the lower needs help. You can trim a spare upper hose to "fit", but the proper angle is tighter

I just bent the crossover tube to make the lower hose work, IIRC.

Thanks Derf, The crease shouldn't be there, it must have been in an accident at some point. I just got the car about a month ago and didn't see the crease until last night when I had the radiator out
