My Sprite motor (block and head) is green, a color described by Moss as olive, but it looks more like apple (the fruit) green to me. According to the catalog, all A-series motors were painted green.

yep! starting with the 12V series motors (late '71 i think) they were painted black. at least, that's what my swiss-cheese memory of reading "original sprite & midget" tells me. hans huber hanz@slip

I've seen a lot of blue heads. The reason has usually been that if you send out the head to be rebuilt, the machine shops had a tendency to send them back to you, beautifully refinished, but in blue.

Well I don't have a midget but, the head of my '77 B matches the color of my Block, MOPAR orange. :^) OK it's not stock but, very little on my car is. It looks cool with the white engine compartment,
