- this Paul, the wire you refer to is the ballast resistor wire. It cuts the votage to the coil from ~12 volts to ~6 volts. The fabric covering usually gets a little ratty beyond the taped part of the

- I would suggest you ask that question of the folks at Lumenition http://www.lumenition.com/ First of all, I don't believe Accel makes a "12 volt coil", they only make what people on this list insist
