- Some drive shafts have a pin that runs through the center on the transaxle side. The pin can be tapped out with a small punch. Then the shaft will release. I found one like that on a Subaru Justy. Da

- Thanks everyone... I found an even better solution (duhhh). I had the brilliant realization this morning that this should be covered under my drive train warranty (up to 60k miles) which it is. Wooho
